Welcome back, wanderers! Oh, do we have a tasty adventure for you today. If you’re like me—someone who relishes a good veggie dish with an occasional pescatarian twist—you’re in for a culinary joy ride. We’re heading to flavor central at our favorite Asheville restaurants!
Dive into the eclectic food scene that spans from vibrant Downtown Asheville to the funky vibes of West Asheville. Get ready to savor lip-smacking, plant-based goodness, as well as a few seafood delights.
But wait—there’s a twist! When I roam and rumble through different destinations, I adore eateries that are compatible with food delivery apps. We’re talking Yelp, Uber Eats, ChowNow, Google Maps, Doordash, you name it! Why? Because life’s too short to stand in queues or wrestle with complicated menus.
Here’s a heads-up, though—I am what you’d call “selectively social.” One day, I’m the life of the party; the next, I’m a hermit. Ordering ahead for pickup or delivery lets me keep that balance. So whether you’re a social butterfly or prefer to cozy up at home, I’ve got your Asheville dining needs covered.
Stay tuned as we dig into Asheville’s best plant-based and pescatarian-friendly restaurants. We’re talking places that offer not just delicious food but also convenience, because, let’s face it, we could all use a little bit of that, right?
So, are you ready to wander into Asheville’s culinary wonderland with me? Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

The Best Things I Ate at Asheville Restaurants
242 Clingman Ave Ext, Asheville, NC 28801
You may notice that I cannot stop talking about Ultra CoffeeBar, so again for the win, they blew me away with this Fig and Brie Pressed Ciabatta. Mostly because, I skipped right by it when I saw Brie. Not a big fan of it. But, oh my. We went for it and it was so good. The thin slice of green apple was the perfect complement.
You can get a Rick James (Espresso + Mexican coke + vanilla bean syrup) and if calories and caffeine are not your thing, there’s also Rick James in Rehab (Decaf Espresso + Diet coke + vanilla syrup)!
Beyond that you will find plenty on the menu for all dietary needs including Gluten Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian.

Love: Easy to order and pick up (if you can find parking quickly) and the sweet potato hushpuppies with apple butter. Fresh, local ingredients.

Love: Easy to order and pick up. They are great at handling the volume they get, which was a lot. If you like tempeh, the BBQ tempeh sandwich might be for you. Sorry, I can’t speak on the actual BBQ but judging from their popularity, it might be worth it.

Love: Easy to order and pick up, familiar with it from the many locations. It’s just a simply good pizza, and my kids always want pizza.

22 Battery Park Ave, Asheville, NC 28801
Love: Easy to order and pick up. Saag Paneer – very good! “Locally made paneer simmered with spinach, tomatoes, green chiles, fresh cream, and roasted garam marsala. And the Spicy Cauliflower.

Restaurants with Multiple Locations
These 2 can also be found in Greenville, SC. If you happen to be in either one, you will not be disappointed by the goodness on their menus.
12 College St, Asheville, NC 28801
Love: The Country Catfish. The whole meal but yes, that catfish! Oh yeah, and the Fried Green Tomatoes. This place is so good, I made a whole tiktok about it and I am not ashamed to admit it.

733 Haywood Rd, Asheville, NC 28806
Love: Really good biscuits. Dare I say – best biscuits ever? Possibly.
