Eating in Asheville
Welcome back and thanks for joining us when we wander!
Let’s talk food in Asheville, because it is yummy! Keeping in mind that I eat mostly plants with a sprinkle of fish here and there, I can only recommend vegetarian and vegan dishes. So, if you like your veggies or just want some great places to try, then you’re in the right place.
From downtown to west Asheville, there’s something delicious around every corner.
There is something else you should know about what makes my food list. I, generally, look for places that are easy to order from through Yelp, Postmates, ChowNow, Uber Eats, Google Maps, Doordash, or whatever has captured the local scene where I’m at. It just makes my life easier if I can place an order for something delicious and pick it up. It’s not the same as eating in the restaurant but we’re still in a pandemic and I happen to be very good at being super social and anti-social equally.
Just a Reminder…

You may notice that I cannot stop talking about Ultra CoffeeBar, so again for the win, they blew me away with this Fig and Brie Pressed Ciabatta. Mostly because, I skipped right by it when I saw Brie. Not a big fan of it. But, oh my. We went for it and it was so good. The thin slice of green apple was the perfect complement.
You can get a Rick James (Espresso + Mexican coke + vanilla bean syrup) and if calories and caffeine are not your thing, there’s also Rick James in Rehab (Decaf Espresso + Diet coke + vanilla syrup)!
Beyond that you will find plenty on the menu for all dietary needs including Gluten Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian.

Love: Easy to order and pick up. They are great at handling the volume they get, which was a lot. If you like tempeh, the BBQ tempeh sandwich might be for you. Sorry, I can’t speak on the actual BBQ but judging from their popularity, it might be worth it.

Love: Easy to order and pick up. Saag Paneer – very good! “Locally made paneer simmered with spinach, tomatoes, green chiles, fresh cream, and roasted garam marsala. And the Spicy Cauliflower.
Restaurants with Multiple Locations
These 2 can also be found in Greenville, SC. If you happen to be in either one, you will not be disappointed by the goodness on their menus.

Love: The Country Catfish. The whole meal but yes, that catfish! Oh yeah, and the Fried Green Tomatoes. This place is so good, I made a whole tiktok about it and I am not ashamed to admit it.
These highly recommended restaurants were on my list but for some reason or other, we just didn’t make it there. So, I’m holding out until next time but if you stop there, let me know if it hit the spot.
